I Oppose thePermanent Crossing
Perhaps what I fear most
is not death
or lost life goals
or too much blaséand too little gusto,
but the building of a permanentcrossing
to Vancouver Island.
The permanent crossing would makemoot
way too much of BC Ferries’raison d’etre
And with it
The culture of the boredom tunedto giddy
of the 5-hour line up onthe Upper Levels Highway
on the Friday of a summerlong weekend,
And the recently added grass knolls
[usually free of dog shit]
at the Tsawwassen causewayholding pen
for bliss communing and sunworshipping.
And I don’t want to “embrace eternityin a listless room”
so the plan,
barring some BC megaproject,
is to have my ashes tossedoff a ferry
in Active Pass: active.
So.
I’m opposed to a
PERMANENT CROSSING!
